No, Colette didn’t kill me. Yes, I haven’t done a Six-Pack Saturday since then. And no, I haven’t lost my taste for beer. If beer was my wife, we’d simply be going through a rough patch at the moment. I’m confident we won’t get a divorce, I just can’t say when we’ll be sleeping under the same roof again.
For those of you keeping track, I’ve written three cases of the mundane. I was planning on doing them every Monday, and did my first one on March 2, 2015. With thirty-six weeks between today and the first case of the mundane, I’ve missed out on doing thirty-three of them. Thirty-two if you count this one. Which you shouldn’t, because I’m not reviewing anything. But, for the sake of not sounding like the kind of person that starts things and doesn’t finish them, let’s pretend I’ve got a backlog of thirty-three of them stashed away on my hard drive (I don’t).
I’ve been slowly (I can’t emphasize that part enough) getting back into the swing of writing fiction. It’s a rough transition when you haven’t done it for nearly four years. Furthermore, I’ve been diving into some genre stuff I normally wouldn’t write, which has presented its own unique challenges. It’s not all doom and gloom though- I’ve had fun! But I still haven’t finished the damn thing.
You’ll also be pleased to know I have some plans to give this website a much-needed face lift. I don’t have any concrete design plans, but I do have some fairly strong ideas about where I’d like to see the site go visually. BUT, don’t expect anything to happen overnight. This shouldn’t come as a surprise to you, but I may not get the overhaul done anytime soon. Also, if anyone out there has any ideas regarding the visuals of this site, feel free to let me know. Likes about the current site? Dislikes about the current site? Grievances regarding the weather?
I will be extremely busy in the coming weeks, with Thanksgiving rapidly approaching. I do plan on getting back into the swing of things on here when Thanksgiving is over though! Granted, the “swing of things” could just mean an article every fifteen weeks at this rate. Don’t read them all at once.
I hope you’re all doing well and enjoying this cool fall weather. Be safe if you’re traveling for Thanksgiving! Speaking of which, do any of you have any weird holiday traditions? Memorable stories about that time a relative was obscenely drunk before dinner?
